Roger Hilton began serving his first term as Retired Member on the OCERS Board of Retirement on January 1, 2023. However, he is no stranger to serving on the OCERS Board, having been elected to the office of Safety Board Member on May 22, 2012 where he served until June 30, 2021.

Mr. Hilton served as Chairman of the OCERS Board in 2016 and 2020, and served as Chairman of the Investment Committee in 2015 and 2019.

He retired from the Orange County Sheriff’s Department in October of 2021 after almost 33 years in Law Enforcement. His career in law enforcement includes time with Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department, Orange County Marshal’s Department and Orange County Sheriff’s Department where he spent the majority of his career.

In addition to his law enforcement duties, he has over 25 years of working in leadership roles in employee labor organizations. He has served on the Boards of Association of Orange County Sheriffs, Association of Deputy Marshals of Orange County, California Fraternal Order of Police, and State Association of County Retirement Systems.

Now that Mr. Hilton has retired, he serves as the President of the California Fraternal Order of Police and as a Board Member of Retired Employees Association of Orange County.
