Nine months have passed since the Orange County Employees Retirement System (OCERS) office has been closed to our members, employers and other stakeholders due to the COVID-19 pandemic. OCERS’ staff did not miss a beat, and was able to immediately begin to fully serve our members from the very first day by telephone and OCERS’ website. Our team had even practiced for a possible pandemic two years earlier as part of our risk disaster recovery plan and those efforts assisted us with our ability to serve all members during this uncertain time.
While serving our members in person has always been a special occasion for OCERS’ staff, we have taken pride in being able to continue to serve each and every one of you in these changed circumstances with the same standard of excellence that is a trademark of this system. Your health and well-being are of utmost importance to us. We will continue to work remotely on your behalf, with our office closed for your protection, until such time as the health authorities direct that it is safe to return.
We recognize the global pandemic resulting from the coronavirus (COVID-19) may be creating uncertainty and concern among our members. We want to reassure you that your benefits are safe, and we have staff working off-site to continue to serve you.
Our OCERS Office is Closed
Our office is currently closed to the public. We are not open for walk-ins, but we are working remotely and available to serve you. You can call us at (714) 558-6200, or send us a message via our contact us page on our website. We will respond as soon as possible, but our response may be delayed as we’re experiencing a high volume of requests. We have also installed a special Drop Box in our lobby; get more information on that on our “Latest News” page.
We’re Processing Retirements on Schedule
If you have submitted an application for an upcoming retirement, don’t worry. We’re processing your application and you will receive your pension check on schedule. If you are considering retirement in the next 30-60 days and haven’t submitted an application, contact us anytime online with any questions you many have.
We’re Making Upcoming Retirement Payments on Schedule
Retirees — Your upcoming benefit payments are on schedule. The next OCERS benefit payment date can be found on the Benefit Payment Schedule page.
Need a Copy of a Recent Paystub?
Retirees and Beneficiaries — We no longer mail paystubs (also called advice notices) for your recent benefit payment, but you can get a copy on myOCERS, our online member portal. Instructions on how to create a myOCERS account and access your paystub can be viewed on the myOCERS Member Portal Support page.
Forms Are Being Accepted Via myOCERS Portal
Members can view and download forms from our website. You can find most of our forms by visiting our Forms page. Many forms can be found and submitted through the myOCERS online member portal.
Retirement Counseling Sessions
One-on-one retirement consultations are available via phone. We have suspended in-person counseling sessions. To contact your retirement specialist, visit our Member Services Directory.
All In-Person Seminars Have Been Converted to Webinars
Out of an an abundance of caution and care for everyone’s safety and well-being, in-person Pre-Retirement Session dates have been converted to online webinars until further notice. Check out our OCERS Retirement Seminar page to view upcoming events.
